PHO Claims Management System

The eCLAIMS system results in improved efficiency. It facilitates the processing of:

  • Claims from General Practices
  • Reports to General Practice on patient utilisation
  • Delivery of reports for contractual agreements
  • Financial management of programmes.

The eCLAIMS system operates in several PHOs across New Zealand.

 

EDGE-D

The EDGE-D tool provides health professionals with the right tool to thoroughly assess and treat a patient according to recognised guidelines, and to educate the patient on ongoing self-management.

The web-based tool can sit with or independently from a PMS e.g. Medtech32. It is time saving and combines a Diabetes Annual Review and cardiovascular risk assessment into one – complete with a management plan, patient advice and clinical decision support.

 

GASP – Giving Airways Support to Patients

The web based asthma assessment decision support tool GASP was the overall winner of the Oral Presentation award at the Waitemata DHB Excellence Awards for 2009. The GASP tool operates in several PHOs across New Zealand.

Two preliminary pilot studies of the GASP tool have indicated significant improvements in hospital admissions, and use of emergency medications.

 

ATM – Ask, Triage, Manage

A point-of-care solution that guides and supports General Practice Teams to be more capable, competent and comfortable in supporting patients who smoke.

ATM was framed on the successful and evidence based smoking cessation triage algorithm developed at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Seven questions relating to the patient’s readiness to stop smoking, psycho-social factors, addiction history, and environmental and support factors are used in a simple algorithm to recommend a suitable level and type of behavioural and pharmacological support.

ATM is web-hosted and links and interacts with the patient’s electronic medical record during consultation. Personalised information, referrals and prescriptions can be printed out and handed directly to the patient.
