If you are a tertiary student in 2019, or you know someone who is, this new 2-page resource, “Staying healthy while studying“, might be useful.

Staying healthy by protecting yourself from preventable illness while you are studying is important.

Page 1 has general information applicable to all tertiary students: recommended immunisations, how to arrange a catch-up immunisation, tips on healthy lifestyle habits, and what to do if you are ill.

Page 2 addresses particular issues for students enrolled in clinical education programmes, who may be at an increased risk of contracting and spreading diseases that can be prevented by immunisation. This means students who will be in direct contact with patients/clients of healthcare services, who work with small children or animals, or handle material that could spread infection.

Visit the Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) for more useful information.
