Comprehensive Care is an organisation that helps your GP practices  give you better, more affordable healthcare. By managing funding, services, and support for clinics across Auckland and Northland, we ensure patients get access to excellent, equitable healthcare care.

What Comprehensive Care does

As a Primary Health Organisation we do not work directly with patients. Instead we support our enrolled clinics to provide the best possible care to their communities.

Helping you stay well

We make sure you and your whānau can access important services to keep healthy. This includes things like immunisations (childhood, flu, COVID-19, MMR), free health checks, and support for families and schools with healthy lifestyle advice.

Extra care for long-term conditions

If you live with diabetes, we offer extra support through our DSME - free courses to manage your diabetes.

We support our clinical staff to provide the best care in the general practice clinic for people living with diabetes, asthma, heart or breathing problems by providing education to our clinical network.

Support for your wellbeing

Health isn’t just about the body: we provide mental health and wellbeing support, education sessions, and connections to services that can help you feel your best.

Specialised services when you need them

Sometimes you may need more focused care. We help with palliative care, HPV screening, retinal (eye) screening, and other specialist programmes. These services are available through your GP practice and may be funded by Comprehensive Care if you meet eligibility criteria to make them easier and more affordable.

There are multiple benefits to enrolling with a Comprehensive Care GP

Enrolling with a Comprehensive Care General Practice will save you money and help keep you and your whānau healthy. When you enrol, you pay less fees for your appointments and you can access subsidised medicines that your Doctor prescribes you.
